GROWING RELATIONSHIPS
Lori Schreuders-Meyer LCSW
I am a licensed psychotherapist with 20+ years of experience working with children, adults, couples and families facing a variety of struggles.
These include:
-
parenting challenges
-
school behavioral problems
-
social skills and peer relationships
-
self esteem
-
divorce
-
bereavement
-
domestic violence
-
PTSD
-
anxiety
-
depression
I have an eclectic, holistic, and attachment focused approach to treatment which is rooted in Psychodynamic theory and includes play therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Expressive Arts, CBT, Mindfulness, Sensory motor, movement, somatic, and trauma informed interventions.
Whether I am working with a child or an adult, my primary goal is to help to create a safe space for them to identify, explore and manage the emotions and behaviors that are impeding their potential for living a healthier and happy life. I have extensive training and experience working with children and adults who have experienced trauma.
Though often feeling depleted and unrecognized, I have seen, untapped, and helped to recover incredible strengths in my clients. Much of my work begins with identifying and supporting those strengths in an effort to overcome and heal from the issues that are creating challenges in their lives.
I understand that it is not always an easy decision to reach out for help. Parents are often shamed for their children's behavior and adults are often defined and labeled by their current challenges or problems. My priority is creating a safe, empathic space for you and your family so that we can identify goals and treatment options to best meet your needs.
